Best horse racing tips: Sun Racing’s top picks for today’s racing at York, Ffos Las, Newmarket, Salisbury, Goodwood and Chelmsford
Don't miss out on Sun Racing's best bet and each-way shot at all of Friday's meetings
THE action on the Knavesmire continues to be the main attraction, but the racing steps up a notch elsewhere.
Goodwood, Newmarket, Salisbury, Chelmsford and Ffos Las all go racing too.
York
Best bet
1.55 Melting Dew - Just edged out of things at Glorious Goodwood and it's no coincidence Sir Michael Stoute drops him back in trip here. The class horse of the race and a repeat of his Goodwood run should probably be enough to take this.
Each way
3.00 Showout - Hasn't taken the usual route to a race like this but Archie Watson has always liked this horse and it's been the target a long way out. Has picked up valuable experience when winning bravely at Hamilton and following it up with a rout at Brighton.
NEW RACECARDS The new Sun Racing racecards include a number of exciting additions such as the 'Predictor Plus'
Ffos Las
Best bet
3.25 Moonlit Sands - A solid run in a much better race last time and this race looks winnable. Given another drop by the handicapper and is versatile on the ground.
Each way
2.50 Mobsta - Has run some big races this season on ground that wouldn't suit. Finally gets some juice in the turf here and looks on a mark he can strike off.
Newmarket
Best bet
2.40 Bacacarat - Has shown solid form all season without winning. Was definitely the horse to take from the Haydock race last time out and under more positive tactics looks a winner in waiting.
Each way
3.45 Protected Guest - If you ignore the latest effort, this horse would be plenty shorter. Looks to be nicely placed here and will lap up the drop in class.
LATEST IN HORSE RACING
Goodwood
Best bet
6.05 Greenback Boogie - Third in a much stronger race at Glorious Goodwood. Beaten at a short price last time but that was too an improver who's raced in Group company since.
Each way
6.35 Baron Bolt - Might be a tad high in the weights now but will take a chance with a top claimer on board. Consistent horse and is drawn fine in stall seven.
Salisbury
Best bet
6.25 Rosamour - Didn't take much to win at Brighton last time but it was still a step up and connections think highly of this horse. Should be better than current mark.
Each way
5.15 Playa Blanca - Makes British debut after a few runs in Ireland. Had run in competitive races there and although handicapper has taken no chances he still looks interesting in this company on his first start.
Chelmsford
Best bet
7.45 Gorgeous Noora - Has a big weight to shoulder, but in a small field should be able to dominate under Silvestre De Sousa. Definitely a horse still on the up.
Each way
7.15 Manson - A horse that blows hot and cold and can prove expensive to follow, but looks too big a price to ignore in this. Will need a bit of luck drawn out wide but has a decent record on the all weather.
