Thursday’s racing tips: Three longshots to fill your pockets at York

Don't miss out on these each-way bets for Thursday, August 23

IT'S DAY TWO of the Ebor Festival at York today and we are in for a cracking afternoon of racing.

The winners of the Irish and French Oaks go head to head in the Yorkshire Oaks and there's also plenty of opportunities to make some cash from these each-way shots.

2.25 York - Oberyn Martell

Looked an exciting prospect when winning easily over 6f at Salisbury in June.

Made his handicap debut over 5f at today's venue but found things happening a shade quickly under a big weight.

One of the highest-rated horses in the field and he is fancied to resume his progress stepping back up in distance.

3.00 York - Hors De Combat

Denis Coakley's seven-year-old has not always been the easiest to win with, but he did get his head back in front earlier this season.

He has since caught the eye in a pair of red-hot handicaps at Royal Ascot and Glorious Goodwood.

This race will be run to suit and he has gone close off his current mark in the past.

4.50 York - Homeopathic

Typically progressive type for Sir Michael Stoute, winning nicely at Newmarket two starts ago.

She bombed out when sent off a well-backed favourite at Newbury when last sighted in July.

That flop came over a mile, though, so she is well worth another chance back down in distance today.
