THERE are ten races on ITV Saturday - yes ten! It's going to be a busy one, with action shown from Ascot, Newmarket and Haydock.
Let's get straight to it, and all the Shergar Cup events are televised.
The 1.05pm is the Dash over 5f. ENCORE D'OR doesn't have a good win record, but he's been in great form recently and has every chance of hitting the frame for Robert Cowell after a fourth at Ascot last time.
Next up is the 1.40pm, a near 2m handicap. BYRON FLYER is another hard horse to win on, but he was placed in this event last year and Hayley Turner is a good booking. The Ian Williams runner is another with fabulous each-way claims.
At 2.15pm it's the Challenge, a handicap over nearly 1m4f. I've napped MACHINE LEARNER to hit the frame in my Sun column. He's down in trip, but I think tactics are important for him. He needs to be buried out the back. Fran Berry is ideal for that job.
We drop in distance at 2.50pm for the Mile. BLESS HIM landed the Britannia at Royal Ascot last year and I have a feeling the 'Magic Man' Joao Moreira is going to be an ideal partner. He can come through fast and late to hit the frame.
Matt Chapman's TV tips
1.05 Ascot - Encore D'Or: 'Ran well here last time, good chance if building on that' (bet here)
1.40 Ascot - Byron Flyer: 'Second in this last year and Hayley Turner a good booking' (bet here)
1.55 Haydock - Mister Belvedere: 'In good form and holds solid each-way claims' (bet here)
2.15 Ascot - Machine Learner: 'Drop in trip no problem and Fran Berry the perfect jockey for him' (bet here)
2.30 Haydock - Agrotera: 'Awesome when winning the Sandringham at Royal Ascot' (bet here)
2.50 Ascot - Bless Him: 'Britannia winner last year can go well with Magic Man on board' (bet here)
3.05 Haydock - Zaaki: 'Consistent and now 12lb better off with Communique' (bet here)
3.25 Ascot - Gossip Column: 'In cracking form of late and can go in again' (bet here)
3.45 Newmarket - Main Edition: 'Royal Ascot winner hampered when seventh last time' (bet here)
4.00 Ascot - George Of Hearts: 'Drop to 6f and strong gallop will suit' (bet here)
Next it's the near 1m4f Classic. GOSSIP COLUMN has been in great form from the front for Williams and can make it five wins from seven starts under Andrasch Starke. It won't be easy under 9st 10lb but he's the form choice.
And finally at Ascot we conclude with the 6f Sprint. GEORGE OF HEARTS is down in trip and might well be suited by coming off a strong gallop. Richard Hughes banged in a winner at Brighton yesterday and can have another here with a late thrust.
Meanwhile, over at Haydock ITV show the 1.55pm, a ladies' handicap over nearly 1m4f. MISTER BELVEDERE is not chucked in but has been in good form at York recently and again at decent odds is a worthy each-way selection for Michael Dods. Any rain will be fine.
Also broadcast from Haydock is the 2.30pm, the Listed Dick Hern Stakes for fillies' and mares' over 1m.
LATEST IN HORSE RACING
No doubt the one to be with here is the progressive AGROTERA, who was awesome in the Sandringham at Royal Ascot when landing a right touch. Obviously out of handicap company here but an exciting prospect.
And finally at Haydock is the 3.05pm, the Group 3 Rose of Lancaster over an extended 1m2f. ZAAKI has been very consistent for Sir Michael Stoute. He was beaten a short-head by the re-opposing Communique not so long ago, but is now 12lb better off.
Over at Newmarket, ITV also have the Group 3 Sweet Solera over 7f. MAIN EDITION was good when scoring in the Albany but not so when beaten and hampered at Newmarket last time.
Mark Johnston's filly is better than that and can get back to winning ways.
So best of luck and hope for Yeeehaaas. Oh yes!
