Exciting Veracious one of ten in contention for Nassau Stakes at Glorious Goodwood
SIR Michael Stoute is ready to fire some big guns at Glorious Goodwood next week.
The legendary trainer looks set to be represented by the exciting Veracious in the Group 1 Nassau Stakes on Thursday.
The lightly-raced daughter of Frankel is one of ten fillies and mares still entered in the £600,000 race.
She broke her maiden impressively last autumn and made her reappearance in the Group 1 Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot, finishing an excellent third to runaway winner Alpha Centauri.
Frankie Dettori was in the saddle at the Royal meeting and is again due to partner the filly at Goodwood.
Chris Richardson, managing director of Cheveley Park Stud, said: “Veracious came out of Ascot well and Sir Michael has been very happy with her.

“The Nassau Stakes is a step up in trip, but Mr and Mrs Thompson (owners of Cheveley Park Stud) and Sir Michael are keen to run and that is the plan.”
Veracious will clash again with the 1000 Guineas winner Billesdon Brook in the Nassau, having finished just ahead of the Classic winner who ran fourth at Ascot.
William Haggas’ surprise Pretty Polly Stakes winner Urban Fox also features among the confirmations.
She beat the Oaks winner Forever Together at the Curragh last time out.
Aidan O’Brien still has three high-class runners in contention with Rhododendron, Magical and Hydrangea, though the last-named is set to tackle the King George at Ascot on Saturday.
Godolphin could have two representatives, with Wild Illusion entered for Charlie Appleby and Promising Run featuring for Saeed bin Suroor.
Nyaleti and Wilamina complete the ten-strong field.
