That leaves us with a straight battle between CRYSTAL OCEAN and Cracksman. The latter will only run if the heavens open and he’s coming here under a bit of a cloud after flopping at Royal Ascot last time.

He does have a big tick in that John Gosden has won this three times in the past seven years but there are still too many questions to answer.

So we’ll go with Sir Michael Stoute’s runner who has just one question to answer having not previously won a Group 1 race.

He was beaten by half a length in last year’s St Leger and has looks capable of winning in this class.
