Best horse racing tips for Wednesday: Sunracing’s top picks for today’s racing at Bath, Catterick, Lingfield, Leicester and Sandown
Don't miss out on Sunracing's best bet and each-way shot at all of Wednesday's meetings
THE heatwave that's smothering Britain means the fields are smaller than usual all around the country.
However, there's still money to be won and the Sunracing team have studied the cards and picked their best bets for the day at each meeting.
Bath
Best bet
3.00 High Wells - Went very close to scoring for the first time this year at the course last time out and given the same conditions he'll be hard to beat. Crack claimer Finlay Marsh takes off 5lb and he gets cheekpieces to make him concentrate that little bit more.
Each way
4.00 Archimedes - Course winner three starts ago is only 3lb higher now and has produced decent performances in defeat since then. This is back over his winning trip and has every chance of striking once more.
Catterick
Best bet
4.10 Bosham - Front-runner has been in cracking form of late and this sharp five furlongs should be right up his street. One of the few in the race who's in any sort of form and can take this with Harrison Shaw taking a valuable 5lb off.
Each way
5.10 Deben - Course winner who has been in decent form of late but now gets first-time blinkers and can take this weak handicap.
Lingfield
Best bet
4.50 Curious Fox - Had been out of form prior to turning things around at Leicester last time out when beaten by a horse in good form. Should build on that now in this weaker race.
Each way
2.50 Sky Marshal - Was doing well prior to a bit of a flop at Haydock last time. However, a much better horse on synthetic surfaces, this return to Polytrack can see him in a better light.

Leicester
Best bet
7.05 Mutadaffeq - Did well to get to the leader (who had first run) on his most recent outing and although he has a penalty he's progressing nicely. Trip will be ideal and the track is similar to Ripon, where he was successful last time.
Each way
7.40 Jupiter - Perhaps the move to Alex Dunn can help this son of Finjaan, who has some decent form to his name. It would be a surprise if he wasn't good enough to defy a mark of 75.
Sandown
Best bet
7.25 Magical Effect - Should have won last time out and although keeps going up the handicap, he definitely has a win in him. Small field will help and Oisin Murphy takes the ride.
Each way
8.30 Petitioner - Was disappointing at Kempton last time out but the two mile trip clearly stretched him and this will be more suitable. Still unexposed and likely to be better than he's shown so far.
