Best horse racing tips for Tuesday: Sunracing’s top picks for today’s racing at Newcastle, Ffos Las, Musselburgh, Nottingham and Chelmsford
Don't miss out on Sunracing's best bet and each-way shot at all of Tuesday's meetings
WHAT a time for flat racing fans. It's only one week until Glorious Goodwood and five days until the King George at Ascot.
But let's not get too ahead of ourselves. We've had a good look at the action on the track today and have picked out our best bets for you.
Newcastle
Best bet
2.10 Kolossus - A big field with plenty of newcomers. Any money for those could prove informative but Kolossus put up an encouraging debut when very green and will have learnt plenty to put to use here.
Each way
1.40 Chaplin Bay - Despite only racing five times on the all weather Ruth Carr's gelding has won twice and finished second twice on the surface. Carries a big weight, but should be in the mix at the close.
DIRECT ROUTE Melbourne Cup hopeful Withhold could head straight to Australia without a prep run
Ffos Las
Best bet
2.30 Zoffee - Heavily-backed for his debut at Haydock but was too keen early on. Still travelled like the best horse but faded late on. Second has already one and I'm very sweet on him to take this.
Each way
3.35 Big Bad Lol - Handicapper has been generous and dropped Ed Walker's runner in the weights again. Last time was clearly a no show but had shown enough before that.
Musselburgh
Best bet
2.50 Kilbarchan - Not the best field sizes up in Scotland but I would be surprised if Mark Johnston's juvenile was beaten in this. Should dominate her four rivals.
Each way
2.20 Silvington - Yard are having a good time of things and the first time visor can see further improvement after a much better show at Hamilton last time.
Nottingham
Best bet
5.30 Castle Talbot - A weak race and Tom Clover's horse has been dropped to a mark he really should be going close off.
Each way
6.30 Classic Pursuit - Not the biggest field sizes to go hunting each way bets, but Classic Pursuit could be chanced in a wide-open heat.
Chelmsford
Best bet
7.10 Danzeno - A rare spin on the all-weather for the old boy. A strong field is assembled but his York effort is still a standout on recent form and he's drawn well in stall two.
Each way
6.10 Stosur - Course and distance winner carries a big weight but Gay Kelleway does well in these races and Stosur ran well enough here last time to consider at a juicy price.
