Today’s horse racing tips: Three longshots to fill your pockets on Monday, July 23
Don't miss out on these each-way bets for Monday, July 23
MONDAY brings a new week of racing as Glorious Goodwood and the Galway Festival edge closer.
Windsor, Ayr, Beverley and Cartmel start us off and I’ve spotted a few openings at juicy prices.
David O’Meara had a terrific weekend at the Curragh and comes back down to earth with a runner in a Class 6 handicap at Ayr.
But VENTURA ROYAL (3.05) can keep up the hot streak and looks the wrong price in a weak field.
She drops into a Class 6 for the first time and her new mark should be exploited here.
On the whole she’s struggled since entering handicap company but ran her best effort to date last time out and a return to 7f is a positive.
Three Longshots to fill your boots
3.05 Ayr – Ventura Royal: ‘Drops in both grade and trip and the trainer is fresh off a winning weekend’ (Bet here)
5.25 Cartmel – Snowed In: ‘On an attractive mark and back at his favourite track on summer ground’ (Bet here)
5.40 Windsor – Tripartite: ‘Big eye catcher here last time out and will go better than odds suggest’ (Bet here)
We change tact to the jumpers next up and SNOWED IN (5.25) returns to his favourite track after a bit of time off.
He’s not getting any younger but has dropped down to an attractive mark and the decent ground could be the key to him judged on the back end of last season.
There’s nothing coming into the race with any consistent form at a reasonable level and it’s up for grabs.
Barbara Butterworth’s small yard isn’t renowned for producing winners week in, week out, but she’s started off reasonably well this summer and has another interesting entry earlier on the card.
TRIPARTITE (5.40) has been ignored again despite an eye catching effort over course and distance.
He’s been dropped another 3lbs and gets the services of Trevor Whelan in the saddle.
Not many at the top of the market convince me and connections must be pleased with him to have another crack at a similar race just two weeks after his return.
He won a better race than this off the same mark last June and should be primed for another big show here.
