REVENGE has been hammering at the door with three seconds and a third from his past five runs. He came up against a decent winner when runner-up at Redcar last time over 5f and stepping back up in trip looks a wise move.

REMEMBER ROCKY was beaten in a tight finish here last time when he seemed to enjoy this 1m2f trip. The handicapper has been restrained with a 2lb rise that gives him every chance at a track he clearly likes.

MAGICAL EFFECT has run some good races this season and might have won at Beverley last time had he made his challenge a bit sooner. It was a similar story when chasing home a useful performer at Chester last month and, while he’s crept up the weights a little, he should be competitive again.

PRESIDENTIAL has been the model of consistency and went close off this mark at Carlisle last time. He was held up for a long time and probably gave himself too much to do. He saw out the mile well though and trainer Roger Fell has his horses in rude health.

MUSTAQBAL can be a little hit and miss but he kicked off this season with an excellent win at Haydock and has run close to that form a couple of times since. He gets on well with today’s claiming rider and likes it around here.

TIMOSHENKO had enough time to idle in front when winning at Chepstow last time out and still cross the line a length ahead. That was his handicap debut over a longer trip and, in true Sir Mark Prescott fashion, he’s quickly upped in distance again which looks a wise move.
