TODAY’S ITV racing tips: Newmarket, Ascot and York – Matt Chapman’s top betting preview for Saturday’s TV racing

Get all the info to bash the bookies as ITV's Matt Chapman runs you through Saturday's racing live on ITV

IT'S bang bang bang today - and before you get too excited I'm talking about the racing! Yes, Ten races on ITV. Super Saturday.

Winners to be found. So let's see what damage we can do to the bookies.

1

I want to start at Newmarket, and the 1.05pm is the Superlative Stakes for juveniles over 7f. QUORTO is not the best of these on paper, but Charlie Appleby's Godolphin runner has easily the most potential. He was impressive first time and could be anything at this stage.

Next up is the big handicap over 7f, the Bunbury Cup. I will have a few quid on MAKZEEM in this.

He has a great record at Newmarket and was runner-up in the Silver Bunbury Cup 12 months ago. Ryan Moore is booked and it's hard to believe connections have not laid him out for this.

The Group 1 Darley July Cup comes up at 2.15pm over 6f. Some good sprinters here but it's the horse dropped back from miling that I believe is a cracking eachway chance.

That's LIMATO, who took this event in 2016 and was runner-up last year. He's been hopeless over the wrong trip this season but is a big price on this occasion considering his back class.

ITV then skip a race but also show the 3.20pm, a handicap over 1m. The one I like here is the Roger Varian IBRAZ, who won well at Sandown last time over a bit further. He's progressive and will be hard to stop.

ITV show two races from Ascot, starting with the 5f handicap at 12.45pm. ATLETICO has not been at his best on his last two starts, but on turf he's well weighted and might be another to go well for the Varian stable.

Also on ITV from Ascot is the 1.20pm, the Group 2 Summer Mile. Oisin Murphy won the Eclipse last Saturday and he's finally reunited with BEAT THE BANK. He ran well in the Queen Anne last time and it's about time he got back to winning form.

Matt Chapman's TV Tips

12.45 Ascot - Atletico: 'Big field ideal and looks well treated on his all-weather form'

1.05 Newmarket - Quorto: 'Good win at Tipperary and looks to have found his feet'

1.20 Ascot - Beat The Bank: 'Close third in the Queen Anne and has conditions to suit'

1.40 Newmarket - Makzeem: 'Great record at this track and goes well in big field handicaps'

1.55 York Muthmir: 'Going for his third win in the race and could be too quick for them'

2.15 Newmarket Limato: 'Ran a massive race to finish second at Ascot and should love stiff finish'

2.35 York Dal Harraild: 'This an easier race than he has been running in and it could be run to suit'

3.10 York Get Knotted: 'Ran well from an unhelpful draw in the Royal Hunt Cup at Ascot'

3.20 Newmarket Ibraz: 'Ran well off a steady pace at Ascot and today's gallop should be stronger'

3.40 York Brorocco: 'Rapid improvement this season and has the class to cope with drop to 1m2f'

Finally, at York ITV have four races to show, and they start with a Listed 5f contest at 1.55pm. MUTHMIR is in good form at the moment, and he was unlucky not to score at Sandown last time. He can carry the penalty for William Haggas.

There's a Group 3 over nearly 1m6f at York at 2.35pm. DAL HARRAILD is easily the top rated here and while he was well beaten last time this is his for the taking. He has a win at this track as well for William Haggas.

Next up is a handicap over nearly a mile at 3.10pm. I'll take a chance here on the consistent GET KNOTTED who has been in good form without winning of late. There is a slight doubt over the trip for my hope, but if he gets it he has every chance for Michael Dods.

Finally it's the John Smith's Cup over an extended 1m2f at 3.40pm. BROROCCO needs a strong gallop and big field to be at his best.

Although he's high in the handicap for Andrew Balding he will get conditions to suit and has a good eachway chance.

So best of luck and hope for Yeeehaas. You Betcha!
