IT’S DONN for the money in the Bunbury Cup at Newmarket.
Donnacha O’Brien takes a rare ride outside of his illustrious family as he partners MUBTASIM for in-form William Haggas.
This race may be over 7f but it will be run at a real lick and it’s no harm to have a bit more stamina to call on.
That’s definitely the case with this four-year-old who finished strongly at Haydock last time.
That was at today’s distance but he was doing his best work at the finish and that staying power will be a real asset this afternoon.
He is dropping down from Listed level and has held his own in even better company than that this season.

His best effort came at Royal Ascot when he finished an excellent third in the Jersey Stakes when again he came with a real rattle and was closing at the line.
Hopefully Donnacha will keep him fairly close to the pace and he’ll be in a good position to strike as others are crying enough.
It’s pretty easy to see why Gilgamesh has been popular after his excellent run in the Wokingham at the Royal meeting last time. He might have won that with a clearer run but had to settle for a bunched-up seventh.
A SIMPLY WONDERFUL GIRL Racing mourns sad death of jockey Laura Barry after cancer battle
That was over 6f but he saw out this trip well when winning at York in May and has relatively few miles on the clock.
At a very big price, Muntdab has every chance of hitting the frame. He was a good third over this trip at York and trainer Roger Fell has his string in good nick. He looks on a fair weight and will enjoy the ground.

Favourites don’t normally waggle the Wizard’s wand but it’s hard to get away from DASH OF SPICE in the John Smith’s Cup at York.
He was just so impressive when winning the Duke Of Edinburgh Stakes at Royal Ascot last time out. That may have been over 1m4f but this race will be run at a fast pace and it will probably feel like that distance as they charge up the Knavesmire.
Before that Ascot win, David Elsworth’s star showed his class by winning at the Derby meeting, where he was nimble enough to cope with Epsom’s quirks.
He just looks like a really good horse and one that will surely be moving out of handicaps after this.

Sir Chauvelin probably didn’t say the 2m of the Northumberland Plate last time and will prefer this distance. He chased home Dash Of Spice at Ascot and won’t be far away again from the same handicap mark.

QUORTO looks a nice prospect in Newmarket’s Superlative Stakes.
We have only seen the Godolphin flyer once but that was enough to create a big impression. He zoomed home here on debut, picking up nicely before crossing the line eased down.

That was over 6f but he shapes as though this distance will suit and there’s clearly a lot more to come.
Blown By Wind is likely to be the outsider of the field but he has some decent form, including when winning at Ascot in May. He was drawn on the wrong side in the Group 2 Coventry Stakes there at the Royal meeting before winning with plenty in hand at Pontefract last time out.
Aidan O’Brien sends over Cape Of Good Hope who sauntered home at Tipperary last time. He probably wants further than this already but is well bred and warrants respect coming from those connections.
