Best horse racing tips for Thursday: Sunracing’s top picks for today’s racing at Newmarket, Carlisle, Doncaster, Newbury and Epsom
Don't miss out on Sunracing's best bet and each-way shot at both today's meetings
NEWMARKET deservedly takes centre stage today in front of the ITV cameras, but there's plenty more equine action across the UK.
We've looked at the best of the rest and come up with our best bets on each card.
Newmarket
Best bet
4.45 Emaraaty - Well-backed at Royal Ascot but ran flat and reasons were given afterwards. Should bounce back from that and old form still looks incredibly strong.
Each way
3.35 Raa Atoll - Still lightly-tried and there should be some more improvement there after a cracking run at Royal Ascot. That form has played nicely and if he finds a bit more should be a big player.
Carlisle
Best bet
3.50 Etikaal - Getting closer to winning and should get there today off this mark. Form of latest effort is strong and stays on the same mark in an arguably weaker field.
Each way
4.25 Pea Shooter - Doesn't win as often as connections would like but a consistent sort that is always there or there about and if displaying his A-game will go close at a juicy price.
A CAREER CUT SHORT Superstar chaser Finian's Oscar dies aged six
Doncaster
Best Bet
4.35 Iconic Knight - In flying form of late and handicapper left alone after narrow Newmarket win. That race has already produced a winner and he should be in the thick of it again.
Each way
5.45 Katie Lee - Looks completely the wrong price. The Candy yard is in sweet form and I'm sure this three-year-old will prove a good bit better than the current rating.
Newbury
Best Bet
7.30 Taurean Dancer - Gets plenty of weight and finally goes up in trip. Confident he'll be bang there in an open looking race.
Each way
8.00 Orange Suit - Penalised for juvenile win but looks to have been discarded because of that. May find one or two newcomers a bit sharp but certainly the one to beat in regards to form in the book.
Epsom
Best Bet
6.00 Dubai Legacy - Short enough in the betting but can't see him getting beat in this small field. Trainer looks to have turned a corner with the lesser types in his yard.
Each way
8.10 Highland Acclaim - A course specialist and low enough in the weights you'd have to think he'll figure judged on previous form.
