SCOUNDREL has been knocking on the door and improved on his previous efforts when finishing an excellent third at Redcar last time out.
That was his first run over this 5f trip and it seemed to suit well. He should be right there again off the same mark.

LIGHT HEART looks the one to beat after showing lots of promise on his debut at Ayr last time out. He might have won had he not been blocked at a crucial stage and this step up in distance looks a wise move.

GRAN MAESTRO came back from hurdling to run a belter when third at Yarmouth last time out. He finished strongly over the 1m3f trip there and his stamina should be an asset over this longer distance. He looks well weighted against modest opposition.

MUJASSAM can be a little hit and miss but he got it together in fine style to win at Hamilton last time out. He had three lengths in hand crossing the line so a 6lb penalty may not be enough to put the brakes on. He’s up in distance here but that’s not an issue.

JACOB BLACK is a consistent performer who ran another excellent race when second at Carlisle last time out. That was after a couple of wins here over 7f but he stays a mile just as well. He’s creeping up the weights now but keeps running well so it shouldn’t be a problem.

IBERICA ROAD has been running well in better races than this and looks capable of scoring off this fair mark. He was fourth at Beverley last time but that was a bunch finish and this step up in distance won’t be a problem.

LANDING LIGHT is on fair losing run but he’s been running well, including when a close-up fourth at Ayr last time out. His best efforts have come over this trip and he’s got winning form off this mark.
