WILLIAM HAGGAS is on the Take again.
Just seven days after Young Rascal won the Chester Vase to book his Derby ticket, the Newmarket trainer landed another Classic trial when Give And Take bagged York’s Tattersalls Musidora Stakes.
The 1m2f Group 3 contest is one of the traditional Oaks trials but yesterday’s winner is far from certain to turn up at Epsom.
Haggas explained: “I’ve never been convinced she would be better over 1m4f – she shows me a lot of speed at home. We’ll have to have a think about it.
“The owner Nicholas Jones might want to go. When they breed these horses they spend a lot of time thinking about it and he thought the one thing she would do is stay.”
The 7-2 shot – held up last in the early stages – came home well under James Doyle to master Dancing Brave Bear by length.

It was the performance of a high-class filly and Haggas revealed he might be tempted to go to France for the Group 1 Prix Saint Alary at Longchamp a week on Sunday.
Earlier on the card star sprinter Harry Angel made a pleasing comeback when winning the Duke Of York Stakes by two lengths.
