CATTERICK

SHUMOOKHI did well on debut at Beverley when second, beaten half a length, when trying to make all. She was caught only in the final strides and gives the impression that there’s more to come. She wouldn’t have to improve much to get the better of these.
2.30
LESTER KRIS clearly has the strongest form on offer and will take all the beating if fit after nearly seven months. He could well be on this first start for in-form Ben Haslam with Paul Mulrennan a good jockey booking. He sees out this trip well and should appreciate the ground.
3.05
Godolphin aren’t asking too much of the well bred DAYKING on this return to action after a year off. He showed promise on his sole start last season when beaten a neck at Wolverhampton over a mile. He’s bred to like this shorter distance and should have too much class.
BROCKHOLES likes this trip and track and is already having her fifth run of the season, with all them seeing her go close. She was a good second at Wetherby last time in similar company and goes off the same mark, which is 2lb lower than when winning here.
4.10
ALLFREDANDNOBELL came back from hurdling to finish an excellent second at Wetherby last week over 1m6f. He was staying on well at the line so this slightly longer trip should help from just 1lb higher in the handicap.

MESHARDAL can go one better than last year’s second place finish in this race. He was unlucky not to score at Newcastle last time, going down by half a length after meeting trouble in running. He likes this awkward track and his turf handicap mark has come down a little.
5.10
MERRY BANTER gets some decent turf ground for the first time in months after slipping down the weights in softer conditions. She likes this track and has fallen to same sort of mark that saw her win here. The trip suits and she won’t be far away.
