Aidan O’Brien reveals Capri out of Epsom’s Coronation Cup hours after Enable ruled out of same race
O'Brien's colt won the Irish Derby and St Leger last season but is unlikely to see a racecourse until later in the year
AIDAN O'BRIEN's star colt Capri will miss his intended reappearance at Epsom next month.
The dual Classic winner was being lined up for a tilt at the Coronation Cup but is now likely to miss the race.
O'Brien, who trained Saxon Warrior to win the 2000 Guineas in great style at Newmarket on Saturday, wasn't confident of a quick return for his St Leger-winning colt.
He said: "Capri had a little setback after his run at Naas.
"He bruised a shoulder and is just not 100 per cent yet. So I wouldn't say he will make Epsom for the Coronation Cup."
The trainer's announcement follows news yesterday that John Gosden's Arc heroine Enable is also likely to miss the race after suffering a similar setback.
Contenders for the Epsom Derby will be looking to make a name for themselves this week, with Chester, Lingfield and Leopardstown all hosting valuable trials for the big race.
In a big few days for O'Brien, the trainer revealed that running plans were sorted for his main protagonists.

O'Brien added: "Rostropovich and Kenya will go up to a mile and a quarter at Chester, while The Pentagon, Nelson and Delano Roosevelt will all go for the Derrinstown Derby Trial at Leopardstown.
"Kew Gardens will go to Lingfield. Depending on the weather, some of the horses heading to Leopardstown could go for the Dante at York."

With the first two Classics in Ireland fast on the horizon, O'Brien also mentioned plans for his fillies.
He continued: "Happily will probably go for the Irish Guineas next. Magical is looking at the same race at the moment and Clemmie is good and will head there too.
"Clemmie will be just ready to run, so whatever she does there she will step up a lot. The plan is to go from there to Ascot."
