GALLIPOLI ran a cracker when second at Newcastle last time coming back from eight months off. He handled the all-weather surface really well and has a very capable claimer on board taking off 5lb. He likes this trip and should run well at a decent price.

WATERSMEET is a progressive performer over staying distances and landed the hat-trick well at Kempton last time out. He was eased down when scoring there and sees out this distance really nicely.

DIAGNOSTIC hasn’t had the run of the race on both outings this year. She has still performed well each time though, including when beaten a length at Kempton last time. This trip is ideal and she’s been aimed at this race.

KACHY has looked really good in winning twice here this year and took a Listed contest last time out. He did well to hold off Kimberella there from a bad draw and there won’t be a lot between them again today.

NEVER BACK DOWN looks to have more to give and he’s already set a pretty decent standard. He won well at Wolverhampton last time coming from a long way back and is at his best over this distance.

SECOND THOUGHT managed to win a Listed race at Wolverhampton last time with plenty in hand despite missing the break. That was over an extended 7f but there’s no problem in getting home at a mile. He looks a couple of pounds ahead of these rivals.

Mr Owen finished ahead of MASTER THE WORLD here last time but lost the race in the stewards’ room. That was the right call and David Elsworth’s seven-year-old can underline that here. The trip suits and it should be a good battle between the pair again.
