Horse racing tips: Uttoxeter and Kempton on ITV4 – Matt Chapman’s top betting preview for Saturday, March 17
Get all the info to bash the bookies as ITV's Matt Chapman runs you through the racing this Saturday.
CHELTENHAM might be over for another year, but the show moves on and if Uttoxeter is on there's more big race action for us to get stuck into.
ITV cameras are at Uttoxeter (weather permitting) and Kempton on Saturday.
The first race on offer from Uttoxeter is a mares' handicap hurdle at 1.50pm over a stamina sapping extended 2m7f.
I like the look of top-weight SAHARA HAZE, who is one of the few in here who gets the trip and goes in the ground. Hard task under the weight, but she's in form and should go well.
Next up is a handicap chase at 2.25pm over 3m. ANOTHER VENTURE was well beaten at Ascot last time, but he's still in good shape for Kim Bailey and should at the least give us a good run for our money.
There's a handicap hurdle over nearly 2m4f at 3.00pm. Have a few quid here on FLEMINPORT for Jonjo O'Neill. He's been winning small races at minor tracks, but I'd be pretty sure he will keep improving and is proven in the conditions.
The big one is the Midlands Grand National over an extended 4m2f at 3.35pm. I keep tipping up HAINAN in these type of events and he's been very consistent. At one stage he looked like he was going to hack up in the Eider, and he eventually did well in defeat. Back him each-way.
Matt Chapman's TV Tips
2.05 Kempton - Copain De Classe: 'Hard to oppose this talented runner for Paul Nicholls'
2.25 Uttoxeter - Another Venture: 'Well beaten last time, but he's still in good shape for Kim Bailey'
2.40 Kempton - Solomn Grundy: 'Has been knocking on the door and this shorter trip might suit'
3.00 Uttoxeter - Fleminport: 'He's been winning small races at minor tracks, but I'm sure he'll keep improving'
3.15 Kempton - Brandon Hill: 'Drop in trip might hold the key for in-form trainer Tom George'
3.35 Uttoxeter - Hainan: 'He's very consistent in this type of event and holds a solid each-way chance'
ITV show three races from the jumps card at Kempton, starting with the novices' limited handicap chase over 2m at 2.05pm. Hard to oppose COPAIN DE CLASSE who only landed a two runner race last time but who looks talented for Paul Nicholls.
The 2.40pm at Kempton is a 2m5f handicap hurdle. SOLUMN GRUNDY has been knocking at the door over slightly longer trips, and this shorter distance might suit for Neil Mulholland.
Finally, the 3.15pm is a handicap chase over an extended 2m4f. Again it's a drop in trip that might hold the key, namely for BRANDON HILL. He's trained by Tom George, who had a fabulous week at Cheltenham.
So best of luck and pray foir Yeeehaaas. You Betcha!
