MONTAGUE shaped well on his first run for David O’Meara at Wolverhampton last time. He was just collared in the final yards after making a bold bid.

He could come on for that outing and he’s got a handy weight thanks to his rider’s claim even in this apprentice’s race.

FAIRWAY TO HEAVEN has tumbled down the weights despite not being disgraced in his recent outings.

He wasn’t asked too many questions when beaten four lengths here last time and has scored in better races than this before.

WHITE DESERT has been off for six months but he should still be too strong for these rivals. He looked green on both his outings on turf last summer, particularly when fifth at Goodwood last time. He’s had time to mature since then and has lots of potential.

THREE WEEKS looks to have bags of potential after two simple enough wins on the all-weather.

He didn’t have to get out of first gear to win over this trip at Newcastle last time and deserves this step up in class. Gronkowski has a similar profile and should be in the frame too.
