Horse racing tips: Newbury and Warwick on ITV4 – Matt Chapman’s top betting preview for Saturday, February 10
Get all the info to bash the bookies as ITV's Matt Chapman runs you through a busy Saturday
NEVER gloat or think you have this game cracked, but this column is flying with a third consecutive winning Nap last weekend and winners all over the place.
ITV cameras head to Newbury and Warwick Saturday, and it's going to be a huge day on the ante-post front for Cheltenham.
Let's get straight into the action at Newbury, and the ITV cameras start rolling with the 1.50pm, an extended 3m hurdle which will be quite a test.
All eyes will be on the returning Barters Hill. But this is tough for a comeback.
I like the look of BASTIEN each-way. The selection goes on the ground and was getting better before falling last time. The step up in trip might being out more improvement.
It's the Grade 2 Denman Chase at 2.25pm, and all eyes in this near 3m event are on my Gold Cup ante-post hope NATIVE RIVER.
We are all on at fancy prices in this column, and just hope he hacks up on his return.
There's a Grade 2 chase at 3.00pm over an extended 2m, and here the attention is on the returning ALTIOR, who has the Champion Chase at his mercy on last season's form.
He faces the Tingle Creek winner Politologue, but he's different class if ready for Nicky Henderson.
2.05 Warwick - Midnight Tour: 'The one to beat'
2.25 Newbury - Native River: 'Short price and should hack up'
2.40 Warwick - North Hill Harvey: 'Should have the class for this'
3.00 Newbury - Altior: 'Different class if ready to roll'
3.15 Warwick - Value At Risk: 'Well treated on his hurdles form'
3.35 Newbury - Knocknanuss: 'Gary Moore does particularly well in this race'
Over at Warwick, ITV show the 2.05pm, a Listed mares' race over 2m5f. On paper MIDNIGHT TOUR is the one to beat with a BHA rating of 146.
Alan King's eight-year-old should be hard to beat.
It's the Grade 2 Kingmaker at 2.40pm, and this is a cracker despite a small field. NORTH HILL HARVEY has to give away 5lb which makes things hard, but I feel he has the class for Dan Skelton.
Finally at Warwick there's a handicap chase over 2m4f at 3.15pm, and some old favourites in the line-up.
VALUE AT RISK has been a disappointing horse really but he's chucked in on hurdle form and might be able to take this opportunity for Dan Skelton.
So best of luck and let's hope for some Yeeehaaas. You Betcha!
