Gavin Cromwell’s Welsh National winner Raz De Maree has options including the Grand National

Gavin Cromwell reports his Welsh National winner to have come out of the race well and is looking at a number of options for the 13-year-old and stressed that he is not certain to run at Aintree

RAZ DE MAREE will only run in the Randox Health Grand National if the ground is suitable.

Gavin Cromwell's 13-year-old put in a heroic effort to win the Welsh National on Saturday and is reported to have come out of the race in food form.

Cromwell told Press Association Sport: " He travelled through the night and got back into the yard around 6.30am. He's out in the paddock now and he's in good order."

Raz De Maree is a general 40-1 shot to claim Grand National glory at Aintree in April.

He finished eighth in the race back in 2014 when trained by the late Dessie Hughes and unseated his rider at Becher's Brook last season.

Whether he bids to make it third time lucky will depend on the ground.
