CARDSHARP will attempt to defy a Group 2 penalty in Saturday's Al Basti Equiworld Gimcrack Stakes at York.
Mark Johnston's colt will have to give his rivals 3lb following his July Stakes win.
Frozen Angel, who finished fifth in the Phoenix Stakes runs for Tom Dascombe.
Coventry runner-up Headway and James Tate's Invincible Army also bring strong Group form to the contest.
