Wesley Ward’s Lady Aurelia and Charlie Hills’ Battaash headline Nunthorpe entries
In what is being billed as possibly the race of the entire Ebor Festival, Lady Aurelia and Battaash have held their ground amongst 13 horses who remain in the Nunthorpe.
AMERICAN speedster Lady Aurelia is amongst 13 horses standing their ground at the confirmation stage for the Coolmore Nunthorpe Stakes at York on Friday.
Wesley Ward's flying machine looked a bit special when winning the King's Stand Stakes at Royal Ascot on her latest start.
Her main rival is expected to be the highly progressive three-year-old Battaash.
The Charlie Hills-trained gelding has earned a crack at Group One glory after impressive victories in the Scurry Stakes, the Coral Charge and the King George Stakes at Goodwood. Hills could also saddle Cotai Glory.
Profitable and Marsha, who filled the places behind Lady Aurelia at Royal Ascot, look set to be in opposition once more.
Profitable's trainer Clive Cox also has Priceless in contention.
Aidan O'Brien is two-handed with Washington DC and Alphabet, while the list is completed by Alpha Delphini, Duke Of Firenze, Final Venture, Goldream and Take Cover.
