TEMPLEGATE'S TENNER

Racing Tips – How to bet £10 on Saturday’s racing with Templegate’s Tenner

Fancy a bet on today's racing? Here's the best way to spend your tenner on the races!

THINGS are going to get a little out of hand in the Stewards’ Cup.

We all have a mate that likes to go over the top when they finally find themselves a winner after a full day’s punting horses, dogs, flies, Love Island loverlies etc.

Today it’s my turn to get Raucous (3.35). William Haggas’ hope was only beaten a length and a half when third in this race 12 months ago and he’s still well weighted.

He was gambled on for the Wokingham at Royal Ascot but was drawn on the wrong side as it turned out and he didn’t get a smooth passage.
Champion jockey Jim Crowley again showed he rides Goodwood as well as anyone when winning on top sprinter Battaash yesterday. He takes the ride on Raucous and I’m expecting them to make plenty of noise.

My 'maniac' 25-1 each-way NAP at Newbury - for the trainer who works miracles

Earlier on the card I like Blakeney Point (2.25). He ran well over track and trip in May and did well to reach fourth after coming from the rear due to a wide draw at Haydock last time.
The easier ground will suit Roger Charlton’s runner – as will the return to 1m6f.

My best bet of the day is Taamol (4.45). He looked really smart when winning a Newmarket Listed race in May. He found the Jersey Stakes a bit hot for him and the ground too quick at Royal Ascot but he has the class to beat this lot today.

Templegate's Tenner

  • £4 win Taamol
  • £2 win Raucous
  • £2 win Blakeney Point
  • £1 each-way treble Raucous, Blakeney Point, To Eternity

Over at Newmarket I’m keen on To Eternity (2.05). She hasn’t run this season but John Gosden’s filly had some smart form last season and she promise to be even better this term.
If those little lot come up trumps it might well be me blamed for some Raucous behaviour on the lawns of Goodwood.
