Glorious Goodwood 2017 – Matt Chapman’s tips for day four shown live on ITV this Friday, August 4
Get all the info to bash the bookies as ITV's Matt Chapman runs you through the fourth day of Glorious Goodwood
THE mudbath that is Goodwood continues on Friday and it’s fair to say it’s been a week to forget on the betting front for most of us!
Horses that enjoy swimming are hard to pick unless you swim with them at home and know they like the water!
That said, the battle continues Friday, and the ITV cameras are back from 1.50pm. Please don’t rain!!!
So the 1.50pm is a Group 3 over nearly 1m4f, and while he shouldn’t be good enough in the conditions I’m going with the improving LORD YEATS, who might well go from the front, stays strong and loves juice.
There’s another Group 3 at 2.25pm over 1m for three-year-olds, and this really should go the way of TRAIS FLUORS, who is a French raider rated 115 for Andre Fabre, the master European trainer.
The selection was given too much to do against Thunder Snow at Chantilly last time.
The 1m handicap at 3.00pm is tough, but I’ll have a few quid each-way on GREENSIDE, who has won on soft ground and stays 1m strong.
He was a bit disappointing last time for Henry Candy, but has the chance to bounce back here under Martin Harley.
Finally it’s the big sprint, the Group 2 King George over 5f which will feel more like 7f in the conditions.
Matt Chapman's TV tips
1.50 Goodwood – Lord Yeats
2.25 Goodwood – Trais Fluors
3.00 Goodwood – Greenside
3.35 Goodwood – Profitable
PROFITABLE is a Group 1 winner on soft for Clive Cox and Adam Kirby and will take some stopping from a decent draw.
So best of luck everyone. look for mudlovers and some Yeeehaaas. You Betcha!
