Richard Hannon’s De Bruyne Horse misses Newbury’s Weatherbys Super Sprint

Hannon had been keen to run De Bruyne Horse at Newbury earlier in the week but connections have decided against running him there and he will run on Sunday instead

CONNECTIONS have decided against running De Bruyne Horse in the Weatherbys Super Sprint at Newbury on Saturday.

The Woodcote Stakes winner headed the ante-post market and was a surprise absentee in the final declarations.

Tim Palin, racing manager for owners Middleham Park Racing, said: "He runs in the Prix Robert Papin (Maisons-Laffitte) on Sunday instead.

"Basically the lure of a Group 2 and the race cutting up helped us decide, and he'll be more suited over five and a half furlongs."

De Bruyne Horse's trainer Richard Hannon still has Zalshah, Glaceon and Lexington Grace entered.

Maggies Angel heads Richard Fahey's team of five as well as Inviolable Spirit, Requinto Dawn, Bengali Boys and Danehill Desert.

The Clive Cox-trained Snazzy Jazzy and Michael Dods' Time Trail put their unbeaten records on the line, while the sole Irish entry is Lynn's Memory from Joseph O'Brien's stable.

William Haggas goes for gold with One For June. The daughter of Arcano got off the mark earlier this month.

"She won at Lingfield last week. It was six furlongs. I think she's got enough speed for five and she's in good form, so we're going to have a go," Maureen Haggas, the trainer's wife and assistant, told At The Races.
