Racing Tips – Top Tipster Steve Mullen’s best racing selections for Thursday, July 6

Steve Mullen, who had a 40-1 winner with Be Perfect at Hamilton on Monday, guides you through Thursday's racing from Epsom, Haydock, Newbury, Perth and Yarmouth.

HAYDOCK

LA CELEBS VILLE is gunning for a hat-trick of wins over course and distance and should go close. She handles any ground and the 5lb she’s been hiked for her most recent victory is wiped out by her rider’s claim. Hidden Charms looks dangerous getting a handy three-year-old’s allowance.

2.30

Trainer William Haggas does well with his Haydock runners and GREEN FORTUNE can give him another win. He looked full of promise when winning on debut at Lingfield last month and should come on for the experience. Wafeer looks the best of the newcomers and any market support would be telling.

3.00

JUNE DOG should find this a bit easier than the Listed Windsor Castle Stakes at Royal Ascot he tackled last time out. The drop back to 5f didn’t help either after he won over this distance at Leicester in May. He should be competitive in the first nursery handicap of the season. Jim Rockford showed some promise earlier this summer and could improve for being gelded. He rates a danger.

3.30

FALCON’S VISION caught the eye when a close-up fourth at Doncaster on debut last time out. She was given a pretty quiet ride there but put herself into the race as it went along. It wouldn’t take much improvement to take this. Point Hope was a solid third at Leicester on her bow and is another who should come on for the run.

CAPTAIN REVELATION has tumbled down the weights and put in a solid effort when fourth here last time. That was over a mile and the drop in distance could help. This is a trappy race with Manners Please more than capable of winning if fit after seven months off.

4.30

JACK FLASH has been in cracking form over this trip on decent ground so should go very close again. He was beaten on the nod at Ripon last time and goes off the same mark today. Merry Banter won well on her only run here so is respected.

5.00

FOXY BOY had five lengths in hand when winning at Beverley last time, which takes some doing over 5f. A 6lb rise in the weights for that scorching success gives him every chance of following up. Cruisetothelimit likes it here and has won off much higher marks than this.
