Richard Spencer eyeing Prix Morny date for Coventry hero Rajasinghe

Following his first Royal Ascot triumph with Rajasinghe in the Coventry Stakes, Richard Spencer has touted a trip across the channel to Deauville for his unbeaten two-year-old.

RAJASINGHE could bid for Group One success in the Prix Morny at Deauville in August following his victory in the Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot.

Trainer Richard Spencer is toying with the idea of giving the unbeaten two-year-old a run before then if he thinks the youngster needs it.

"The plans are up in the air. We're going to see how he is this week regarding his cantering at home," Spencer told At The Races.

"We're going to enter him in multiple races and and we'll take a view over the next week to 10 days as to where we go with him.

"We've got the July meeting at Newmarket on our radar. There's obviously Goodwood and we've been talking of going to Deauville for the Prix on August 20.

"It's eight weeks between the Coventry and then, so whether we get a run into him between now and then could be an option.

"The horse will tell us when he's ready to run and we'll take it day by day."

Spencer reports the son of Choisir to have thrived for his Group Two triumph.

"There's not many will do what he's done. Since he came back, he's ate, slept and put on weight. He's phenomenal. He's come out of the race fantastic," said the Newmarket handler.
