Royal Ascot 2017 – Winter leads home a 1-2-3 for trainer Aidan O’Brien in the Coronation Stakes
O'Brien's filly followed up her two 1,000 Guineas wins with a dominant display in the Coronation Stakes suggesting there is plenty more to come from her this season
WINTER stamped her class on the Coronation Stakes field with a dominant win.
Aidan O'Brien's filly was looking to follow up her two 1,000 Guineas wins in the seven-runner field.
She did it with ease as she came clear of stablemates Roly Poly and Hydrangea.
John Gosden's Dabyah could only manage fourth.
O'Brien said: "She's a filly who is thriving from race-to-race, she travelled well, Ryan had her in a lovely position and she's won very well.
"She gets the trip very well, she's very classy and is a great traveller. When you ask her she gallops out strong.
"Physically she's thriving, David (Wachman, former trainer) always thought the world of her last year and now she's thriving race-to-race."
