DAVID O'MEARA runs both Mondialiste and Custom Cut as he looks to grab glory in the Ganton Stakes at York.

Mondialiste drops in class and distance after finishing fourth in the Brigadier Gerard Stakes at Sandown last month.

O'Meara said: "Mondialiste is in good form and ran well in the Brigadier Gerard to finish fourth.

"Coming back to a mile shouldn't be a problem for him - he's got plenty of boot for that.

"Custom Cut was a bit unfortunate in the Diomed at Epsom last time. He met a few traffic problems and might have finished fourth or fifth but for that.

"He won nicely in Ireland the time before that and hopefully he'll run well, too."

O'Meara's fellow Yorkshire-based trainer Richard Fahey saddles the admirable Gabrial.

Last season's Cambridgeshire winner Spark Plug has performed well twice in defeat so far this season and was last seen being beaten just a nose in the Festival Stakes at Goodwood three weeks ago.

Golden Stunner impressed when winning a handicap at the track on her latest appearance and steps back up in grade.

Trainer Ralph Beckett said: "We know she likes the place and she now has a rating which means she has to go back into a Stakes race.

"I'm hopeful. It looks an open race and she likes quick ground. Fingers crossed she can back it up."

The two three-year-olds in the 10-strong field are the Richard Hannon-trained Khafoo Shememi and Saeed bin Suroor's filly Arabian Hope.

Sir Michael Stoute's Thikriyaat and Epsom Icon from Mick Channon's yard complete the line-up.
