TEMPLEGATE'S TENNER

Racing Tips – How to bet £10 on Saturday’s racing with Templegate’s Tenner

Fancy a bet on today's racing? Here's the best way to spend your tenner on the races!

I WONDER what old Loadsamoney’s up to these days.

Harry Enfield’s loudmouth character had plenty to shout about in the ‘80s. Keen to let everyone know he was raking it in, he used to waft a wad of notes around to brag how well he was doing.

Times moved on and so has Harry. But those of a certain generation can still remember his top ten hit Doin’ Up The House.

In it he urged everyone to ‘whop your wad on the counter’.

Today I reckon we should listen Loadsamoney’s advice and whop the wad on WAADY (4.05) in Haydock’s Temple Stakes.

John Gosden’s speedster has a perfect four wins from four start over five furlongs away from soft ground.

He was third to top-class sprinters Profitable and Mecca’s Angel in this race 12 months ago and went on to finish within two lengths of the winner in the Group 1 King’s Stand at Royal Ascot.

Ignore his below-par return to action as it was over six furlongs – he’s much better at today’s shorter distance.

I thought MUBTASIM (3.30) ran really well behind Blue Point at Ascot last time. That gives him ground to make up on runner-up Harry Angel but I reckon he’s up to the job.

He came from further back than the pair in front of him and he should improve for the run.

GRAPHITE STORM (2.55) and YORKIDDING (2.20) are my other Haydock fancies.

I also think CHESSMAN (5.40) is worth a check.

He ran a blinder when narrowly beaten at Newbury last time and he should improve for that experience.

There’s no better place to be on a glorious sunny day than Goodwood.

And I reckon TONY CURTIS (2.00) might have his day in the sun.

He’s lost his conkers over the winter and that just might give him the improvement he needs.

The step up in distance should be ok as this race is unlikely to be run at much of a pace.

BLESS HIM (3.10) drops down to seven furlongs and wears a hood for the first time.

That might just be the key to him and he should get a decent gallop to aim at.

York’s another of my favourite tracks. I’m hoping DAL HARRAILD (2.40) and EAST STREET REVUE (3.50) will make me love it even more.

We really are spoilt for choice today as Chester is another gem of a racecourse.

FASTNET TEMPEST (3.05) was a really good winner of Ascot’s big-field Victoria Cup two weeks ago.

He’s bagged the prized rail draw and should go in again.

If we can get all those up we should really be in Loadsamoney. You Betcha.
