Haydock, Goodwood and York come under the spotlight as Templegate tries to find a host of winners on a busy Saturday

YORKIDDING should have us laughing all the way to the bank.
He was nailed close home when runner-up in the Chester Cup and he was only beaten a head and a short-head at Hamilton last time. The return to two miles should help.
Swashbuckle is likely to keep him company on the front end. He’s run two solid races since switching back to turf and should go well if the pace is not too strong.
Last year’s winner My Reward had Yorkidding back in third when scoring at Ripon. Softer ground would have been ideal but it would not surprise me if he retained this prize.
Parliamentarian is unexposed and shapes like the step up to two miles will suit him. He won first time out last season and he’s another in with a shout in a tricky race.

BRACE yourself for GRAPHITE STORM.
He ran a blinder when trying a mile for the first time at Ascot two weeks ago. Clive Cox’s hope came home strongly and was just pipped a short-head by useful Hajaj.
He looks certain to get the strong pace he likes.
I’ve been impressed with the way Naval Warfare is progressing. He got away with fast ground when scoring at Leicester on his handicap debut and would probably prefer it softer.
His prominent racing style is also unlikely to be a help with plenty of front-runners in the field.
Maths Prize took on top prospect Shutter Speed at Newbury last month. He’ll be much happier in this grade and looks sure to run well.

WALLOW in the Mub.
William Haggas’ MUBTASIM won three races last season. Although he came up short in Group races there was a lot to like about his comeback run when third behind Blue Point at Ascot.
He was held up in a race dominated by horses who raced more prominently and that should have put an edge on him.
That form gives him a bit to find with runner-up Harry Angel but Clive Cox’s speedster tends to pull too hard for his own good. That will always leave him vulnerable.
Brian The Snail ran a shocker at York last week. But that track just isn’t for some horses – especially on easy ground. He would have a chance on his earlier impressive wins.

WORSHIP speedy WAADY in the Temple Stakes.
His record over five furlongs away from soft ground is a superb with four wins from four starts.
He was third behind Group 1 winners Profitable and Mecca’s Angel in this race 12 months ago and was only beaten a couple of lengths in the King’s Stand at Royal Ascot.
I’m not bothered he was well beaten on his comeback run as that was over six furlongs. Today’s trip suit him much better.
Quiet Reflection was one of the stars of last summer. She won the Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot and Haydock’s Sprint Cup – both Group 1 contests.
But those victories came over six furlongs on soft ground and today’s conditions are against Karl Burke’s filly.
I’m not convinced by Washington DC’s attitude but Priceless does have potential.
Goldream won a pair of Group 1s in 2015. He loves fast ground.

DO a deal with Dal boy.
I’m expecting DAL HARRAILD to improve a lot for his Nottingham return to action.
He has to give weight to all his rivals after picking up a penalty for landing a Newmarket Listed contest in September. But that was a good race and he’s always looked likely to appreciate going up to today’s 1m6f trip.
Clever Cookie won this race two years ago. He won the Yorkshire Cup over track and trip last season and he should take a decent step forward after finishing a close sixth in that race two weeks ago.
Frontiersman looked up to this level when storming clear to win a good Newmarket handicap. He should go close.
Harrison faced some stiff tasks last season. He came good at Chelmsford last time and should not be underestimated.

HEAD East in the Unibet Sprint.
EAST STREET REVUE beat Love On The Rocks over track and trip last summer and has been in good form since.
Tim Easterby’s speedster should be spot on after two solid efforts this season and the return to this course should help.
There is no end of dangers. Out Do has slipped to a nice weight and he put up a promising effort over six furlongs last time. He’s won twice at this track and should go well.
Harry Hurricane is another with good course form but he might just sharpen up for his first start for three months.
Copper Knight – a stablemate of East Street Revue – won well at Chester two weeks ago. He likes that track and it remains to be seen if he’s up to this stiffer task on a straight track.
GOODWOOD

TAKE a chance that TONY CURTIS will play a starring role.
He failed to win last season but did run well in a string of Group 3 races. Richard Hannon’s hope has been gelded over the winter and that often brings about plenty of improvement.
His two efforts over today’s 1m2f trip were not too inspiring but he’s got plenty of stamina in his pedigree and this race is unlikely to run at a strong pace.
Mount Logan won the other Listed race on this card 12 months ago. It’s hard to work out why Roger Varian has plumped for this contest instead as he is better over 1m4f.
Tullius and Abdon would prefer softer ground.

I’M feeling Blessed.
David Simcock’s BLESS HIM wasn’t really suited by a slowly-run mile race on his turf debut after landing a Chelmsford maiden.
He pulled too hard so the hood he wears for the first time should help. The drop to seven furlongs in a race likely to be run at a sound gallop might just be the key to him.
Horroob has an obvious chance for excellent 7lbs apprentice David Egan. His neck defeat of Sea Shack at Lingfield makes him a big contender but stall 12 is very hard to overcome.
Doncaster winner Aardwolf hasn’t fared much better with the draw but dual Dubai scorer Top Score – not disgraced in the 2,000 Guineas – has plenty in his favour.
