RICHARD HANNON reckons Barney Roy's run in Saturday's QIPCO 2000 Guineas will "turn him into a man".
On just his third run, Hannon's colt stayed on well to get to within a length of the winner Churchill in second place.
Barney Roy stumbled in the dip and had to change course more than once so deserved plenty of credit in getting so close.
"I could not have been happier with my lad," Hannon told www.richardhannonracing.co.uk.
"He has come on again from the Greenham and I believe this race will toughen him up and turn him into a man.
