Dabyah and Swiss Storm head Newbury weekend entries
Plenty of classic clues are likely to be found at Newbury on Saturday, with Frankel progeny Swiss Storm and Queen Kindly amongst the interesting crop of entries for the Dubai Duty Free Stakes and the JLT Greenham Stakes.
CLASSIC clues look certain at Newbury on Saturday with Dabyah headlining the entries for the Dubai Duty Free Stakes and Swiss Storm among 18 possibles for the JLT Greenham Stakes.
John Gosden’s Dabyah might have lost her unbeaten record in the Prix Marcel Boussac when last seen but lost little else in defeat in third.
Richard Fahey’s Frankel filly Queen Kindly, winner of the Lowther Stakes, is another possible with Glitter Girl, Bletchley and Urban Fox among the nineteen.
Swiss Storm, another by Frankel, was bought into by Godolphin after he won a Newbury maiden for David Elsworth. The veteran handler has also entered his Racing Post Trophy sixth Sir Dancealot.
Godolphin have three other possibles, all of whom have won their only start to date – Richard Hannon’s Barney Roy and the Saeed bin Suroor duo of Benbatl and Dream Castle, who won on the same card at Doncaster.
Make Time, Emmaus, Via Serendipity and four possibles for Aidan O’Brien, including War Decree, will ensure it is an informative contest.
The older horses get their chance to shine in the opening John Porter Stakes with Midterm, one-time Derby favourite for Sir Michael Stoute, pencilled in to return.
Chemical Charge, Crimean Tatar, Dal Harralid, Muntahaa and Second Step are just a few of the classy 14 in contention, along with O’Brien’s Idaho.
