HUNTINGDON

JUST MILLY has had a little break since winning at Doncaster in late December. That was only her second run over hurdles and she enjoyed the similar distance there.

You would expect some improvement at this early stage of her career and this track should suit. The betting will be a good guide to the chances of Nicky Henderson newcomer Joy’s Spirit.

2.50 - Mullen's star bet

COYOACAN showed some promise in three bumpers and looks set for a decent future after finishing a close-up third on his hurdling debut here last month.

He will probably need further than this trip in time but is a live contender today. Spiritual Man has been knocking on the door and there isn’t a lot between them.

MELDRUM LAD looked more than a little rusty on his first start for Seamus Durack last time out. He had been off for more than four months so that was fair enough.

Despite being in need of the run, he was bang in contention until fading in the latter stages. That should see him spot on for this.

PILLARD has been freshened up with an excellent run on the all-weather, when he finished a close third at Kempton.

He has had a little help from the handicapper on this return to the jumping game and this drop back to the minimum trip should help too.

4.20

COMMANDING SPIRIT has not shown much in novice hurdles so starts handicapping from what looks a fair mark.

It could also be telling that he’s been upped a mile as he comes from a family that has produced lots of stayers. He has a first-time tongue strap for good measure.

CELTIC TUNE ran really well to finish second here 19 days ago, beaten just a neck in a driving finish. That was over the same distance and a 3lb rise in the weights looks fair enough.

With just three chases under his belt, there should be more to come anyway.

5.20

Trainer Harry Fry has been in stunning form over the past couple of weeks and his COCKNEY WREN can take this finale. She was third at Wetherby last time, going down in a tight finish.

That was a step forward from her Taunton debut and you would expect further improvement.
