Racing Tips – How to bet £10 on Saturday’s racing with Templegate’s Tenner
Fancy a bet on today's races at Sandown and Wolverhampton? Our tipster guides you through the best way to build up to Cheltenham
WHEN Dennis The Menace and his prickly pooch Gnasher wreaked havoc on his softy school mates someone always suffered.
To be fair, it was usually the teen tearaway who ended up getting six of the best as his pranks came back to haunt him in the comic caper.
Today, ARDEN DENIS looks a good bet to cause the bookies plenty of mischief in Hereford’s 4.35.
My fancy will be wearing stars on his top rather than a stripy jersey but he’s the one everybody should be keeping their eyes on.
He bolted up on his third start for in-form trainer Neil Mulholland at Wincanton three weeks ago.
The handicapper hasn’t missed him and has hit Arden Denis with a hefty 13lb rise.
But that was nothing less than he deserved and talented claimer Harry Reed takes off more than half of the extra weight.
I reckon we should have the first couple of quid of our weekend tenner on Arden Denis.
Another four is going on YUFTEN in the Lady Wulfruna Stakes at Wolverhampton.
This is one of two big races sponsored by Sun Bets – this one due off at 3.15 – and I’m mad keen on Roger Charlton’s hope.
He bagged a hot handicap at Ascot on Champions’ Day in October on only his second run for Charlton.

While with Johnny Murtagh in Ireland he had two runs on Dundalk’s all-weather track. He won one and was beaten a head in the other.
Yuften has also been gelded over the winter. That eye-watering operation often improves horses and my fancy wouldn’t have to find much more to take this prize under top jockey Andrea Atzeni.
I suggest have £4 on Yuften. That leaves us with four quid.
Sandown’s Imperial Cup (3.00) doesn’t look as competitive as it usually is and KAYF BLANCO must have a great chance.
He’s been really consistent this season. His course-and-distance third to Champion Hurdle hope Brain Power was a smashing effort and he was far from disgraced behind well-handicapped Ballyandy in last month’s Betfair Hurdle.
Templegate's TV Tenner
- £4 win Yuften (3.15 Wolverhampton)
- £2 win Arden Denis (4.35 Hereford)
- £2 e/w double Kayf Blanco (3.00 Sandown) and Cap Soleil (3.35 Sandown)
Trainer Graeme McPherson has put a hood on him for the first time today and that should help him settle.
Given he’s got a great chance of at least making the first three, an each-way double with CAP SOLEIL in the mares’ bumper final (3.35) at Sandown is the way to go.

Fergal O’Brien’s filly has looked all class in her two races to date. She cruised home at Newbury on her debut and the form of her Cheltenham Listed success on New Year’s Day has worked out really well.
Hopefully that tenner will turn into enough cash to fund a Cheltenham Beano. That really would be fine ‘n Dandy. You Betcha.
