LUDLOW TIPS

2.20
BE MY SEA hasn’t set the world alight over hurdles but has shown enough ability to win a couple of times on the level, which is more than you can say about most of these. He drops back to a more suitable trip here after running out of steam last time in a race that won’t take a lot of winning.
2.50
KAP JAZZ is turned out quickly carrying a penalty after winning as he liked at Carlisle last time out. That was over this trip in similar conditions and a repeat of that effort should see him home today. Some Are Lucky could be the biggest danger after hitting the post a few times. He’s still learning and there should be more to come.
3.25
ALIANDY has actually run better on his past two outings – when finishing second – than he did when winning at Southwell three starts back. His best form has come in this fairly testing ground and he should have no problem with the trip having scored over a furlong shorter.
4.00
DUSKY LARK won on his debut for trainer Robert Walford at Wincanton last time when he wasn’t stopping at the end of 2m4f in testing conditions. That bodes well for this longer trip and today’s race doesn’t look any stronger. A 7lb rise in the weights looks fair too and he should be right there again.

Mullen's Best Bet

Ludlow 4.35: Two Swallows

4.35
TWO SWALLOWS has improved a bundle since joining Ben Pauling’s yard, with two wins and a second from three starts. Decent amateur rider Alex Ferguson takes over today and his 7lb allowance means she’s only really 1lb higher than when winning at Towcester last time out. She likes this trip and ground along with being proven in this grade. She should go very close again.
5.05
PERSIAN SHOW came back from almost two years off the track to win well over course and distance three weeks ago. There’s always a chance that he may “bounce” after that excellent comeback but that’s the only thing to worry about. He looks head and shoulders ahead of the rest on form.
5.35
MAID OF TUSCANY is no star performer but she sneaks into this modest contest at the bottom of the weights. She has dropped to just 1lb higher than her last win and has been well backed a couple of times since moving to her current yard. She isn’t one to get too excited about but has chances at a decent price.
