LEICESTER TIPS

2.10
THREE OF A KIND was unlucky at Ludlow last time. He copped a big bump jumping a fence which gave his rider little chance of staying on board. He was going nicely at the time and it would have been no shock if he’d won. He’s dropped 4lb down the weights for that effort and this trip has suited in the past.

BELAMI DES PICTONS has looked a nice prospect when winning his past two chases after looking in need of the run on his debut. He scored by less than a length at Newbury before taking a big step forward to win easily at Warwick last time out. That was over 3m so this trip won’t be a worry and there should be even more to come.
3.10
REBEL REBELLION operated at a decent level in chases before taking almost two years off the track. He won a decent handicap at Newbury before being thrown into the Grand National, which proved too much. He’s still with Paul Nicholls and showed good signs when second at Wincanton earlier this month. Considering his long break that was a good run and it should bring him on nicely.

Mullen's Best Bet

Leicester 3.10: Rebel Rebellion

POWERFUL SYMBOL was well backed on his chasing debut at Catterick last time and would have made a winning start had he not unseated at the third last. He was cruising along in front there and it wasn’t a huge error. He should have learned from the experience and looks hard to beat.
4.10
Most of these have been out of sorts so at least MISS OSCAROSE has been running well, winning at Plumpton two starts ago before finishing third there last time out. This seems to be her best distance and she’s only 2lb higher in the weights than that win in December.
4.40
THE HIGHLANDER didn’t stay 3m at stamina-sapping Hexham on his hunter chase debut last time and should be much happier over this distance. He likes some cut in the ground and ran at a decent level in France before heading over here. His long absence is a concern but this is a weak race.
