TAUNTON TIPS

2.20
BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE enjoyed stepping up to this trip when third here last time out. She had been running over shorter and finding life a little tough. The handicapper has dropped her 2lb despite that encouraging effort and that could make all the difference.

MASTER BURBIDGE did well to finish second at Wetherby last time in what looks a stronger race than this. He likes this trip and won’t mind if there’s some give in the ground, although a sound surface suits too. Noel Fehily is a positive booking and they should go well.
3.20
VERDANA BLUE was very impressive when scoring at Hereford last time, putting the race to bed a fair way out. She only had three lengths in hand crossing the line but it could have been a lot more. She stays in maiden company here and should be too good for them.

Mullen's Best Bet

Taunton 2.50: Master Burbridge

TOWERING runs off the same mark as when second at Doncaster last time in a race that looks stronger than this. That was an especially good effort as it was his first spin over fences and he should learn plenty from it. The trip suits and there should be more to come.
4.20
TOMMY SILVER has kept some pretty fancy company without being disgraced. He was seventh in last year’s Triumph Hurdle at the Festival and was pitched in at Listed level last time out. So this is a fair drop in class over a trip that should be ideal. He’s come down the ratings a little which should help his chances too.
4.50
MONSIEUR GIBRALTAR comes here n the back of winning a point-to-point last time and should have plenty in hand of these rivals. he showed some promise over fences for Paul Nicholls earlier in his career and, at the age of six, has plenty left to offer.
5.20
OR DE VASSY has already gone close in two of these races and can make it third time lucky here. He started with a solid effort at Southwell before improving on that when second at Towcester. A repeat of that would be good enough and he should improve for good measure.
