Racing continues it’s support
The Albatross Club held their Christmas lunch in aid of the fund and raised £41,000 with the help of Frankie Dettori and Jim Crowley
WHILE Jim Crowley was named first-rider to Sheikh Hamdan Al Maktoum this week, he was still busy raising funds for injured jockey Freddy Tylicki.
Crowley was also involved in the fall at Kempton which left Tylicki with paralysis of the lower half of his body, and their fortunes have been somewhat different since the incident.
The Albatross Club held their second annual Christmas lunch on Friday in aid of Tylicki and were joined by stars such as Alan Brazil, Frankie Dettori and Mick Fitzgerald.
A huge sum of £41,000 was raised by those in attendance towards Tylicki's rehabilitation.
Crowley, who was presented with the Albatross award for his outstanding year commented: "‘Its been a great afternoon, really good fun.
"Just wanted to say thank you to The Albatross Club, Ross (Marshall) and Andrew (Harding) for my Albatross award; what a year it has been and lovely to celebrate with them all this afternoon.
"I’m so glad to be involved with raising so much money for Freddy, a close friend of mine to help him along the next chapter of his tough journey."
