Punter scoops sensational £75,000 from just £20 stake on four horses thanks to William Hill Bet Boost feature
JOCKEY Kieran O'Neill woke up a hero this morning -- and probably doesn't even know it.
That's because his winning run on Nader at Kempton last night was the final leg for one William Hill punter who won over £75,000 from a £20 stake.
A £1 Lucky 15 and £5 accumulator on four horses across Nottingham and Chepstow before the all-weather action helped scoop the monster prize.
The four selections were Tarhib in the 2.10 at Nottingham, Bobalot in Chepstow's 4.55 contest and Tenjin in the 5.20 at Kempton before Nader's win.
Tarhib was backed at 13/2 and had a slow start coming out the gates under Jim Crowley.
Despite finding a bit of trouble, he was travelling much the best and once got daylight came home powerfully to win comfortable by two lengths.
Bobalot was a 6/1 pick and had one or two scares in the jumping department but similarly to Tarhib came from off the pace to run out a cosy winner.
Tenjin was the biggest priced selection at 12/1 but went off at 8/1 under Neil Callan.
It was the start of an eventful night for Callan who later rode out a finish to power his mount clear past the finishing line for what he thought was an easy success - forgetting there was another lap of the track to go.
The winning bet
William Hill
- Tarhib - 2.10 Nottingham - 13/2
- Bobalot - 4.55 Chepstow - 6/1
- Tenjin - 5.20 Kempton - 12/1
- Nader - 7.30 Kempton - 11/1
But on this occasion he got it spot on, coming up the inside to time it expertly to edge out favourite Elegant Charm by half a length.
That left it down to Nader at 11/1 (SP 8/1) to win and he did so by over three lengths, making all under O'Neill.
It hit the pockets of William Hill, with the 8,198/1 bet actually going off at 12,284/1 thanks to their Bet Boost feature - securing an extra £20k.
William Hill spokesperson, Lee Phelps, said: “Whether it was luck or judgement, you have to take your hat off to one of our customers who won over £75k on four horses on Wednesday from just £20.
“It would have been a nervous time waiting for the final leg, but they shouldn’t have worried as Nader won easily at Kempton, capping off the 12,284/1 bet.”
