Horse racing York Ebor tips: Templegate NAPS racing’s next superstar to strike in style on day three

TEMPLEGATE takes on day three of York Ebor Festival confident of banging in some more winners.

Our man's been in red-hot form lately - find his tips below and back one simply by clicking their odds.

NOBLE STYLE (3.00 York, nap)

He looked a potential star when winning on debut at Ascot in May and it was a shame this Kingman colt had a setback that kept him away until late July when he tanked along to score on the July course at Newmarket.

Trainer Charlie Appleby thinks a lot of him and he can take a big step forward here.

GOLDEN VOICE (5.20 York, nb)

He was just pipped by a decent rival at Redcar and he looks ready for this step up to a mile. He went close over course and distance in May and will be happy to return.

HIGHFIELD PRINCESS (3.35 York, treble)

She has been in fine form over 6f and took a Group 1 last time out. She has loads of pace and has every chance of following up on this drop in distance.

Templegate's race-by-race guide to York Ebor day three

1.50

PARACHUTE scored the last time William Buick took the ride at Newbury in June. He relished this trip there and is only 4lb higher today.

He didn’t enjoy Chester latest and will be much happier here.

Juan De Montalban saves his best for this trip and had plenty up his sleeve when scoring at Ascot latest.

He’s crept up the weights but is a major player again.

Cormier was an easy winner at Chester over 1m2f but has no issue with this longer distance.

He has scored here before and can cope with an 8lb rise in the weights.

Party Island has been in great nick on the all-weather and would be a threat if matching that back on grass.

Amityaz is back from a break but is best freah so can’t be discounted.

Mahrajaan tries first-time cheekpieces which could give him a boost.

2.25

STRADIVARIUS would have been my pick but he will now miss his big York send-off after picking up his first ever injury.

It's a crushing blow for connections, punters and all who love seeing history being made.

Trueshan now heads the market but needs more rain because, although he won the Northumberland Plate on the all-weather, he found the going too quick at Goodwood last time.

He may also have been feeling the exertions of that fantastic weight-carrying effort at Newcastle.

Coltrane isn’t in the same class as the big two as he showed when a still-decent fourth in the Goodwood Cup - but if Trueshan now gets scratched too he's my choice.

He is a thorough stayer as he showed when taking the Ascot Stakes. He has every chance of winning a vastly weakened race IF Trueshan doesn't run.

Tashkhan is another to see the backside of Kyprios this season when fifth in the Ascot Gold Cup.

He led around the home turn so this drop in trip should help.

He was fifth in the Melrose here last season so the track suits but he needs to improve plenty for Brian Ellison.

NOBLE STYLE looked a potential star when winning on debut at Ascot in May and it was a shame this Kingman colt had a setback that kept him away until late July when he tanked along to score on the July course at Newmarket.

Trainer Charlie Appleby thinks a lot of him and he can take a big step forward here.

Royal Scotsman is already proven at this level thanks to his Richmond Stakes victory at Goodwood 22 days ago.

That built on his Coventry Stakes third and he’s a talent.

Marshman will find this opposition tougher than Thirsk last time but he did score by almost nine lengths without breaking sweat.

He will progress from that and deserves his place in this company.

Cold Case took a minor contest here in June before not taking to Chester when still second last time.

The soft ground may not have helped there either and he’s better than that.

Waiting All Night was a decent fifth in the Coventry stakes and matched that form when second at Ascot latest.

3.35

HIGHFIELD PRINCESS has been in fine form over 6f and took a Group 1 last time out.

She has loads of pace and has every chance of following up on this drop in distance.

Two-year-olds can win this and The Platinum Queen can make the most of her weight advantage.

She was dazzling when scoring at Goodwood last time and should have a lot more to come.

Royal Aclaim was a Listed winner over course and distance last month and looks capable of making her mark in this classier company.

Trainer James Tate is very confidence which could explain her skinny price.

Khaadem deserves a crack at this level after a Goodwood Group 2 win latest.

4.10

STATE OCCASION took a big step forward when winning well at Glorious Goodwood.

That was her first crack at this trip and it suited perfectly. She’s up 5lb but can cope with that.

Amanzoe keeps winning and made it four from her past five with a bit in hand at Ascot latest.

She’s going sharply up the weights but looks capable of digging out more over a distance that suits.

Reel Rosie stayed well when scoring at Nottingham. This is tougher and she’s 7lb so needs more but trainer Ed Bethell is in decent form so she may deliver.

Shampion managed to win easily at Windsor despite pulling hard early. She hasn’t been clobbered for this handicap debut and is a contender.

4.45

DESERT ORDER looks much the best of those with racecourse experience.

He kicked off with a good third over this trip at Newmarket before matching that form with a photo second at Sandown.

He should be capable of improving on that.

Salt Lake City looks a threat after a promising debut second at The Curragh 13 days ago. He wasn’t asked too many questions from the saddle but still stayed on well.

Pjanoo was green when third in a blanket finish at Ayr and has more to offer in this stronger company.

Maggie’s Tern stepped up from her debut when beaten a neck at Leicester and could run into the places.

5.20

GOLDEN VOICE was just pipped by a decent rival at Redcar and he looks ready for this step up to a mile.

He went close over course and distance in May and will be happy to return.

Bolthole clocked a personal best when a close third in a big field at Goodwood and is a proven stayer. A 3lb rise in the weights is fair.

Operating was an easy winner on handicap debut at Nottingham when seeing out this trip well. He has more to come for the Gosdens despite going up 8lb.

Al Marmar is another with more to offer.
