Out of luck
Gigginstown's retained jockey suffered a crashing fall at Fairyhouse on Saturday when unseated by Ball D'Arc and has had to undergo another operation just a month after returning from injury
SOMEBODY give Bryan Cooper a bit of luck.
Cooper now faces between four to six weeks on the sidelines after breaking his right arm in a fall at Fairyhouse on Saturday.
That injury comes just a month after getting back in the saddle following his horror fall at Galway in July where he suffered a partially collapsed lung.
The retained jockey to Gigginstown House Stud was riding the Gordon Elliott-trained Ball D'Arc for his bosses on Saturday when his mouth unseated him at the first.
The jockey was taken to Connolly Hospital, in Dublin, for treatment and underwent surgery on Sunday morning.
Irish Turf Club senior medical officer Dr Adrian McGoldrick said: "Bryan has a fracture of his right forearm, so he'll be out for probably four to six weeks. That's the normal healing for that.
"He was operated on by Mr (Paddy) Kenny at Connolly Hospital."
