BRIGHTON owner Tony Bloom was celebrating a huge winner after his horse won the Champion Chase at Cheltenham.

The billionaire punter pocketed £225,080 for winning one of the biggest races of the year with Energumene.

The Brighton supremo was soaked but delighted to see his superstar horse pocket him a fortune

Sent off at 5-2, Energumene always travelled well and got a huge boost when red-hot odds-on favourite Shishkin was pulled up early on.

It was especially sweet for Bloom, who was believed to be behind a losing £360,000 punt on his horse at Ascot in January.

The Nicky Henderson-trained Shishkin got the better of Willie Mullins' star chaser that day in a battle for the ages.

They say revenge is a dish best served cold.

Bloom told ITV: "I absolutely did believe he would win.

"The rain really helped us, we were praying for rain.

"We are very wet but we're delighted to be wet!

"Willie Mullins is a genius.

"We were very confident going in and he has won the Champion Chase, its brilliant!

"I'm with a lot of friends and we're having a big celebration. It's going to be a great night!

"I'm supposed to be going to the match, our helicopter is out of action. We have cars waiting for us but we might struggle to make kick-off.

"It's a very first-world problem! We're having a great time but we're all thinking about Ukraine and there are much bigger situations going on in the world."
