William Haggas's colt looked smart when winning a valuable maiden at York and with the yard in terrific form everything points to a good run
RIVET bids to maintain his highly progressive profile for William Haggas in the At The Races Champagne Stakes at Doncaster.
A hugely impressive winner of the Convivial Maiden at York, he holds some lofty autumn entries.
Haggas harbours some concern over the form of the York race, but admits he is a horse he is particularly sweet on.
The in-form Newmarket trainer said: "I like him very much. I think he's got great potential. His work has been good and he's got a great temperament.
"The only concern I have at this stage is the Convivial has worked out appallingly. I'm holding on to the fact that he won it easily.
"It will be a very interesting race. If he's a good horse, he ought to go very close.
"He's done well since York. We'll see on Saturday."
Saeed bin Suroor will be hoping his string are over the worst of the virus as he sends Vintage Stakes second Thunder Snow into battle.
Charlie Appleby's D'bai takes a step up in class after winning a Newmarket maiden back in July while John Ryan runs the consistent Grey Britain, fifth in the Gimcrack.
Kevin Ryan's Tommy Taylor and Richard Hannon's Majeste also feature in the six-runner field.
