Kevin Na has stunned fans watch him hit shot off the actual Pebble Beach after wild shot at US Open
KEVIN NA got himself into a spot of bother in his second round at the US Open at Pebble Beach.
The American – playing his second shot at the 10th – shanked his approach well wide.
In doing so, his effort rolled over the cliff and onto the beach, much to the amazement of stunned onlookers.
Despite his perilous position, the American and established PGA Tour star played from the beach and walked off the hole with a bogey.
He was able to play his shot from the beach because it is not deemed out of bounds and is instead a lateral water hazard, as defined by the red line.
However, it was a nightmare round for Na as he shot a six-over-par score of 77.
Na will not come back for the weekend with the projected cut mark at two over.
Meanwhile, Justin Rose is the current leader at -7.
Elsewhere, Masters champion Tiger Woods is level par through two rounds.
