Record-breaking Brooks Koepka storms seven clear at PGA Championship as Tiger Woods misses cut

BROOKS KOEPKA fired himself into the record books as he stormed seven clear at the PGA Championship - but a poorly Tiger Woods missed the cut.
The defending champion fired a second-round five-under 65 to sit on 12 under - a whopping seven strokes in front of nearest rivals Jordan Spieth and Adam Scott.
But Woods, who said he has not been feeling very well, stumbled to a three-over 73 to miss the cut by a shot on five over.
That looked like being Rory McIlroy's fate too until a late birdie blast saw him finish three over and inside the cut line by a shot.
Brit Matt Wallace is among the chasing pack after a 67 left him four under overall and in with a definite chance of a top finish.
Koepka's 36-hole total of 128 after rounds of 63 and 65 is the lowest two-round score in major championship history.
And it has him perfectly placed to win his fourth major from the last eight he has played.
The world's hottest golfer, 29, said: "I was battling a little bit and everything was leaking right, it's something I've battled my whole life so should be an easy fix.
"Today is a new day, it doesn't matter about yesterday, just needed to post a good score and I'm very pleased. You've just got to battle and I'm proud of the way I hung in there today.
"Getting off to a good start was kind of key. It builds momentum for the rest of the round and makes you feel better.
"Nice to finish on a birdie, I am putting well, just need to clean up the driver.
"I just need to keep doing what I'm doing, put the pedal down and try to create a bigger lead."
England's Justin Rose sits on three under, good enough for ninth place at Bethpage Black in New York.
He said: "I played really, really well. The number is great, there was a score to be had. 67 is great on this course.
"I left three or four out there on the front nine but then started playing really well. That run around the turn made me feel I made up for a few mistakes earlier in the round.

"Hopefully it's a confidence building round.
"The forecast was weird today, they forecast 20mph winds but there was hardly a breath out there. They shortened it up anticipating some tougher weather. Today you could max out with your yardages.
"Brooks is a tough competitor but you never know, keep chugging away and it's not easy to keep a lead around here."
