Embarrassed golfer Kiradech Aphibarnrat tumbles and falls on his backside after hitting miracle shot at The Masters 2019
Thai golfer takes a huge fall after hitting amazing recovery at the par-4 17th
AUGUSTA has witnessed some of the most memorable golf shots that live long in the memory.
But never anything quite like the one produced by Thai golfer Kiradech Aphibarnrat.
The roly-poly pro, who is becoming a cult hero on America’s PGA Tour, took a tumble and ended up on his backside after a recovery shot on the 17th.
At the par-4 hole, Aphibarnrat pulled his drive off to the left, where it landed in the second cut of rough.
With a line of elegant pine trees blocking his view of the green, he ambitiously attempted a massive hook shot around the branches of the trees, and on to the green.
The 16-and-a-half stone golfer, who loves flash watches and has a collection of Lamborghinis, took a mighty swing.
The force of his shot made him swivel and lose his balance, and he made an inelegant fall on to the famous turf of the Augusta National.
The chuckles of the fans on the fairway however were to be drowned out by the cheers on the green.
Incredibly, the man dubbed Asia’s John Daly had pulled off the impossible shot, and the ball rolled to about 20feet from the pin.
Sadly, Aphibarnrat couldn’t see it land as he was still trying to get up from his ungainly tumble.

The 29-year-old Thai is three under par after the first two rounds.
He finished in a tie for 15th on his Masters debut two years ago.
Earlier in the day former champ Zach Johnson had the embarrassment of hitting the ball with his practice swing.
