Masters 2019 tips

Phil Mickelson

Lefty hasn't finished in the top ten of a major since his second place finish in the 2016 Open, but hear me out.

The five-time major champion loves Augusta - he has three green jackets - and his form in the past couple of years in regular events shows he likes playing well in spring.

Mickelson burst back into the winners' circle after five years out with his WGC-Mexico win in March 2018, when he beat Justin Thomas in a play-off.

And he held-off red hot Paul Casey to claim the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am in February.

He also won the Masters in 2010 on the back of a stinking run of form going into the event.

Rory McIlroy

If you can afford to risk enough at such a short price then Rory is the man to beat.

He is undoubtedly the form player in the world right now on the back of his win in the Players, the unofficial fifth major.

Yes, he lost to Tiger Woods at the WGC Match Play but has not finished outside the top ten at Augusta since 2013.

Masters 2019 best bet

11-8 - Hole in one on 16th in round four

The pin placement on the par-3 16th in the final round is just asking for an ace to be made because the green's natural slopes lead to the cup.

Charley Hoffman made a hole in one there last year. And in 2016 Louis Oosthuizen, Davis Love III and Shane Lowry all made aces on the same day.
