Sergio Garcia reveals top five best golfers he has played with during illustrious career with Tiger Woods only second
SERGIO GARCIA has named the five greatest golfers he’s ever played with - and Tiger Woods only comes in second.
But the Spanish star can be forgiven after naming European legend Seve Ballesteros as the greatest he’s ever played alongside.
The five-time major champion was a titan of 20th century golf and inspired a young Garcia to take up the sport.
And Garcia told : “Number one, I have to pick Seve because he’s one of my idols.
“I loved the way he played the game, the charisma he had, the way he could get out of trouble and the imagination he had with the shots he was able to hit.”
Garcia and Woods were pals in their younger years but have not always seen eye-to-eye as pros - with some even labelling their relationship ‘poisonous’ in recent years.
But the 41-year-old was happy to name his fellow Masters champion at No.2 in his top five as he continues his recovery from a horror car smash.
He said: “We all know how good Tiger is. When he was in his prime, the way he hit his irons and controlled his ball flight when he was driving the ball as well as he was.

“He was very clutch with his chipping and putting when he needed, so that was really big.”
Garcia completed his top five with two Ryder Cup team-mates and an in-form American.
The 2017 Green Jacket-winner named World No.1 Jon Rahm as the fifth-best he’s ever played with before nominating Dustin Johnson at No.4.
And his No.3 went to Rory McIlroy, who he has partnered in two European Ryder Cup successes.
